Case IH Adds CL & N Models To Updated 2024 Quantum Specialist Tractor Range

Case IH has introduced big changes to its 2024 lineup of compact Quantum specialist tractors for the European market, including adding new CL and N models to the series’ updated V (vineyard) and F (fruit) variants. Buyers are in store for “radically different” tractors from their predecessors, as the manufacturer says more than 70% of the components in the 2024 versions are newly developed.

    Case IH’s Quantum N & CL

The Quantum N (Narrow) is just 4.2 feet (1.3 meters) wide, and its cab is even narrower at 3.8 ft (1.155 m), making it a good fit to work in the tight spaces between the rows in most vineyards.

The Quantum CL is 5.25 ft (1.6 m) wide and is a solid solution for row crop operations. It uses the same operator platform as the Quantum F but boasts the wider front axle of Case IH’s standard tractors. This means owners can opt for larger tires and use the tractor for tasks on orchards and mixed farms, including operations situated on hilly terrain where traction and stability are a must.

    The Greater Quantum Range

Quantum tractors are also well-suited for municipal work within parks and recreational sectors. With the addition of the CL and N, European buyers now have a choice of 20 Quantum configurations, as each series model is available in five rated power options ranging from 75 to 120 horsepower (56 to 89.5 kilowatts).

The entry-level Quantum 80 is equipped with a 3.4-litre FPT F5C engine. The other models through the high-end Quantum 120 use a 3.6-L, 4-cylinder FPT F5C Stage V power plant. The engines supplant the previous Stage IIIB versions and bring to the table up to 13 HP (9.7 kW) additional output and up to 14% more torque.

    Quantum Cab Improvements

The tractors’ high-efficiency selective catalytic reduction (Hi-eSCR2) exhaust aftertreatment system is concealed to create a low bonnet profile that gives operators an excellent sightline to inter-axle attachments.

Operators also benefit from a new A-pillar display in the newly designed flat-floor cab, which boasts a patented Category 4 dual-filter system, new ergonomic controls, and a raised windscreen, all contributing to operator comfort and safety.

    Transmission & Hydraulics Performance

Case IH’s 2024 Quantum tractors come with four-wheel drive as standard, and buyers can opt to equip the N with a front-axle suspension. All models employ an ActiveDrive 2 transmission with 32 forward and 16 reverse gears. An optional 8-speed creeper package lets you move the speed down to 0.11 mph (0.17 km/h).

The tractors’ double-pump, open-center hydraulics system has a 17 gallon-per-minute (64-liter-per-minute) output to take on most tasks thrown their way. Customers facing more demanding tasks can upgrade to an 21-gpm (80-Lpm) alternative.
