New John Deere Frontier SB12F Series Front-Mount Snowblower A Fit For Compact Utility Tractors
The summer heat may be unbearable now, but it’s not too early to start thinking about your winter snow removal needs. If you’re in the market for a front-mount tractor model, John Deere has unveiled a new heavy-duty Frontier SB12F Series Front-Mount Snowblower. It’s designed for compact utility tractors like Deere 4-Series models and is well-suited for large residential and commercial applications. Deere says the machine’s 80 inches (203 centimeters) of clearing capacity will save time by moving snow faster and in larger quantities, thus reducing operator fatigue.
"Our customers are always seeking tough and reliable solutions to clear even the most difficult snow during peak winter months," says Deere Go-To-Market Manager Mark Davey. "The new Frontier SB12F Series Snowblower pairs a tried-and-true front-mount design with cutting-edge features to help clear snow in record time, keeping operators safer and more productive all season long."
Enhanced Accuracy
The SB12F requires a tractor with an undercarriage power take-off (PTO) system and a minimum of 30 horsepower (22 kilowatts). It measures 30 in. (76.2 cm) high by 49 in. (124.5 cm) long and weighs 895 pounds (406 kilograms). The snowblower has a 20-in. (51-cm)-diameter, 170-rpm auger and a 4-blade, 26-in. (66-cm)-diameter, 540-rpm impeller. The snowblower’s 3-part hydraulic chute is 10.5 in. (26.7 cm) in diameter and can rotate 245 degrees, enabling operators to place snow more accurately, Deere says.
Deere says the front-mount design makes it easier for operators to focus on what’s ahead than do pull-type or rear-mount models, which are also available in Deere’s snowblower lineup.
Safety First
The SB12F is built for all types of snow removal tasks and is equipped with steel skid shoes that prevent damage and injury from unseen materials. The shoes can be replaced as needed, thus extending the life of the snowblower.
