Solectrac Introduces New Backhoe & Tektite Cab For e25 Electric Tractor

The Solectrac e25 electric tractor has new options available for 2023, including a new backhoe attachment and Solectrac’s Tektite cab. The Tektite cab provides protection against branches, tree limbs, and weather, and is rollover protection systems (ROPS)-certified. Solectrac says the cab provides excellent visibility with all-glass doors with full sub-frame and is supported in the open position by a gas strut. Operators can customize their cab with options such as an additional on/off rocker switch, rear work lights, an amber strobe or beacon, interior and exterior mirrors, a defrost fan kit, a front wiper washer, and a rear radial wiper.

The e25 Backhoe attaches quickly and easily and has an 8-foot (2.4-meter) reach, 2,100 pounds-force (9.34 kilonewtons) of digging force, a 140-degree swing arc, and a 12-inch (30.5-centimeter) bucket. It has a maximum digging depth of 80 in. (203 cm) and a loading reach of 39 in. (99 cm). An optional thumb kit for grappling small trees, branches, and brush is also available.

The Solectrac e25

The e25 is a versatile tractor that is designed for use on hobby farms, golf courses, athletic fields, municipalities, and more. The electric tractor is powered by a 22-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery with a 16.4-kilowatt (25-horsepower) output and maximum torque of 62 pounds-foot (84 newton-meters). It can run three to six hours on a single charge, according to the job and associated loads. The battery charges in less than eight hours with a 220-VAC, 30-amp outlet or can charge overnight in 12 hours with a 110-VAC, 15-A outlet. Battery life is approximately 2,500 cycles. The e25 is compatible with all Category 1N, 540 PTO implements, including hydraulics, on its rear three-point hitch. The four-wheel-drive tractor has a towing capacity of 3,000 pounds (1,360 kilograms) including trailer weight.
