Case IH Updates Quantum V/F Fruit, Vineyard & Specialty Tractor Series
Case IH recently announced the Quantum tractor range, a line that includes fruit, vineyard, and specialty versions, has been updated and expanded with new models following feedback from customers. The newly refined models are Stage V-compliant with an upgraded cabin, new hydraulic options, new hitch and PTO arrangements, and an updated transmission. The Quantum V/F line recently made its international debut at the Sima 2022 agriculture show in Paris, which runs through tomorrow.
About The Quantum V/F
The Quantum V/F series offers five models ranging from the 74-horsepower (54-kilowatt) Quantum 80 to the 120-HP (88-kW) Quantum 120. Each is equipped with an operator cab, four-wheel drive, and the FPT F5C four-cylinder engine. The Quantum 80 has a 3.4-liter engine with two valves per cylinder and uses a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and diesel particulate filter (DPF), but does not require diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). The other tractors have 3.6-L F5C engines that use a DOC and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems for exhaust aftertreatment.
The revamped hood is lower than that of the previous generation to improve sightlines and a new LED lighting arrangement improves visibility in low light for safer work at night. Rear linkage and PTO controls are integrated into the rear mudguard fender. Factory-installed and aftermarket alternative front linkage options are available.
Enhanced Operator Comfort & Safety
The redesigned cabin has a Category 4 air filtration system to protect the operator from dust, aerosols, and vapors. The flat-deck floor provides easy access while floor-to-roof glass and a four-pillar design give the operator unimpeded vision. An A pillar-mounted data display controlled using the dial on the operator console provides information and easy adjustment of settings. The tractors are compatible with Case IH AFS technology for an array of data management options.
The tractors have a 32F/16R Active Drive2 transmission as standard and an option for 44F/16R with creep speeds. Both options have Powerclutch and a true 25-mph (40-km/h) top speed. The tractors have a minimum speed of 0.43 mph (0.7 km/h) with the standard transmission or 0.10 mph (0.17 km/h) with the creep option. The driveline has a wet clutch with electro-hydraulic PTO to give full the operator control over the power shuttle and PTO. The Quantum V/F line has a maximum hydraulic output of 17 gallons per minute (64 liters per minute) with a 21 GPM (80 LPM) option.
“The new Case IH Quantum Stage V is a more comfortable and higher-specification fruit, vineyard. and specialty tractor range,” says Federico Condini, Case IH product specialist for Quantum tractors. “The new Quantum models offer multiple size configurations, comfort enhancements, mechanical and electrohydraulic remote valve options, and driveline improvements that mean they meet the requirements and demands of professional orchard and vineyard farmers and specialist customers, bringing the benefits of greater performance and technology and lower cost of ownership to their businesses.”
